Protest by Werder fans: Against fan hostility in Leverkusen!
Werder Bremen's next away game is on January 24, 2026, against Bayer Leverkusen of all teams. Before the duel, the “Green-White Help” and the Werder Bremen fan scene sent a clear signal and sharply criticized the situation surrounding the impressions that had been gathered during previous visits to Leverkusen. The current situation is anything but inviting for the traveling fans.
In a comprehensive statement Fanhilfe expresses concern about the fan-unfriendly measures that were observed during the last guest games in Leverkusen. The intensive security checks in particular left a bad aftertaste. The Werder fans reported admission problems that not only occurred in the past, but also spoiled the joy of visiting the stadium for many. In the last game on site, parts of the Bremen fan community left the stadium because of the excessive controls.
Criticism of security measures
Fanhilfe criticizes the isolation of the guest block, which is equipped with high dividing fences and several locks. The selection of fans to be checked appears arbitrary and the searches often take place in separate containers, which does not inspire confidence in the emergency measures. Above all, the aggressive and unfriendly attitude of the security service is criticized, which often occurs without any justification. As if that wasn't enough, choreographies are not allowed to be shown in the guest block, which further dampens the mood.
“Green-White Help” urgently appeals to arriving fans not to submit to the intensive controls and to use their right to leave the stadium if the measures continue to be restrictive. Those responsible at Bayer 04 are asked to stop these controls immediately and create a stadium atmosphere that is suitable for fans.
Demo for fan culture
The aim of the demo is to send a strong signal for an open and solidarity-based society as well as a lively fan culture. The event begins in the Weserstadion on December 3rd at 6:15 p.m. with a short rally, followed by a joint march. Here You can find further information about the issue and the planned form of protest.
