As part of the 36th Spielo Cup, TBV Lemgo Lippe played an impressive semi-final against TuS N-Lübbecke and catapulted themselves into the final with a 31:26 win. This exciting match took place in the MERKUR Arena and started with a delay of 17 minutes as the previous game between GWD Minden and HSG Nordhorn-Lingen had lasted longer. During the game, both teams fought a thrilling duel that kept the spectators on the edge of their seats until the final minute. LZ reports that Joel Willecke scored the first three goals for Lemgo in the opening phase and gave the team a 2:3 and 3:4 lead.

Despite initial difficulties in defense, the Lemgo handball players were quickly back on track. Jan Mudrow equalized the score to 7:7 in the 14th minute, and a strong 3-0 run shortly before half-time set the stage for Lemgo to take a narrow 14:13 lead. After the break, the game remained exciting with intense duels and changing leads. Niko Blaauw and his teammates in particular kept the game even until the 41st minute, when he equalized to 20:20.

The decisive final spurt

But TBV Lemgo Lippe showed strong nerves: ten minutes before the end, the team increased the lead to 25:23. The goalkeeper Constantin Möstl was a crucial pillar for the success with strong saves and maintained the lead until the end. Niels Versteijnen, who also shone, scored two goals in a row that extended the lead to 28:24. With another goal from Leve Carstensen, the TBV finally sealed the final score of 31:26. The best throwers of this game were Jan Mudrow and Niels Versteijnen, who each scored six goals. Lip kick added that the final against GWD Minden will now take place tomorrow at 5 p.m.
