Visit the Bone Mill: Open Monument Day on September 14th!
A special event is coming up in Mühlhofe that will attract local residents and visitors alike. On Sunday, September 14th, the bone mill in Meinerzhagen-Mühlhofe invites you to the open monument day. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., interested guests can visit the historic mill, which was once used to grind animal bones. The ground material obtained was then used as fertilizer and is part of the regional history.
The volunteer association IG Bone Mill, together with the groups “Together for Valbert” and “Die Konfettis”, organizes this exciting event and has put together a colorful program. A highlight will be the craft market, which will introduce visitors to the world of traditional crafts. If you get hungry, you don't need to worry - for small amounts there are food and drinks that invite you to linger and chat.
A look behind the scenes
The bone mill itself will be viewed in operation on this day, providing a unique opportunity to learn more about the workings and history of this special site. The organizers and volunteers are happy to give visitors insights and share the atmosphere of historical crafts. The event is the perfect place to enjoy with friends and family without having to dig deep into your pockets - entry is free!
This is the second year in a row that the Bone Mill has been part of the Open Monument Day, and the response from last year showed that the event is a real insider tip. Many visitors appreciate the opportunity to experience old traditions and local history up close.
For anyone interested, this is an opportunity to spend a Sunday dedicated to culture and community. Whether strolling through the craft market or listening to the stories about the mill - there is something for everyone here. The team is looking forward to numerous visitors and to making the day a special experience together.
