Free places in the summer holiday program: experience skateboarding and poetry slam!

The summer holidays are just around the corner, and there is great news for all sports and art-loving young people in Cologne! There are still a few places available in the city's summer holiday program for two exciting workshops, which offer perfect opportunities to learn new skills and get creative. A highlight is the poetry slam workshop, which will take place on August 19th and 20th in the construction playground. This workshop is intended for young people aged 12 and over and runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Under the guidance of an experienced poetry slammer, participants can explore the world of poetry and create their own texts. It is recommended that you bring food with you to recharge your batteries during breaks. Mettmann.de reports that poetry as an art form not only impresses with its rhythm and meter, but also conveys emotional depth and opens a window on social and political issues.

Another exciting workshop that is no less exciting is the skateboard workshop, which will take place on August 20th and 21st at the skate park in the city forest. Children and young people between the ages of 8 and 16 are welcome here. The workshop runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offers a comprehensive program that covers the technical basics of skateboarding such as foot positions, steering, acceleration and braking. This workshop is organized by Westenergie in cooperation with the city and the skate-aid initiative. A real bonus: Westenergie not only provides food, but also the necessary protective clothing and skateboards. An additional highlight is that the participants are allowed to keep the skateboards after the workshop.

Both workshops are free, but registration is required so that anyone interested can secure their place. Such programs are an excellent way to encourage creativity in young people.
