Farewell after 23 years: New face in the Münster crime scene!
The Münster “crime scene” is facing an exciting change: after more than 20 years, public prosecutor Wilhelmine Klemm, played by Mechthild Großmann, is saying goodbye to the popular crime series. Their final episode, “The Invention of the Wheel,” will air in December, marking a bittersweet farewell for many fans. [Prisma] reports that a spokeswoman for WDR emphasizes that establishing a figure as prominent as Klemm is no easy undertaking.
Klemm's successor is now Nikola König, portrayed by the talented Lou Strenger. Strenger, born in Ludwigsburg in 1992, not only brings a breath of fresh air to the series, but also has a well-known stage career behind him. With her acting studies at the “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” University of Music and Theater and engagements at the Cologne Theater and the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, she has established herself as a versatile actress and radio play speaker. There she played, among other things, Juliet in “Romeo and Juliet” and Jessica in “The Merchant of Venice”.
A new wind in the Münster “crime scene”
According to [WDR], Strenger will initially investigate as an “interim public prosecutor” alongside Chief Inspector Thiel (Axel Prahl) and Prof. Boerne (Jan Josef Liefers). Filming for their first case, “Masquerade,” has already begun. In this episode, the trio will hunt down perpetrators during the turbulent carnival season in Münster. An exact broadcast date has not yet been set, but it is expected to air in 2026.
For Strenger, who can also be seen in the new ARD series “David and Goliath” as psychotherapist Dina Schwarz, entering the “crime scene” is an important step. She was already able to attract attention with her role in the 2019 film biography “Brecht” alongside Tom Schilling. Her achievements were recognized, among other things, with the audience award “Gustaf” from the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus and the title “Best Actress in North Rhine-Westphalia”, which shows that she has high expectations.
The challenge of succession
The challenge of being able to follow such a beloved figure as Wilhelmine Klemm is certainly no small task. In the last two decades, Klemm has had a decisive influence on the image of the Münster “crime scene”. Film fans are excited to see how Lou Strenger will follow in these big footsteps. However, WDR is sure that she can continue the legacy well with her experience and acting talent.
With the move to a new character, expectations are high among fans, and it will be interesting to see what stories and dynamics Strenger will bring to the table in the coming episodes. The Münster “crime scene” continues to be a guarantee for exciting entertainment – and that has not least to do with the fresh breeze that Nikola König brings to the team.
