With a breath of fresh air in the spirit of adventure, Globetrotter Equipment GmbH is opening a new store in Münster. On Thursday, September 15, 2025, the store at Windthorststrasse 64 opened its doors and invites all outdoor enthusiasts and travel enthusiasts to explore its 640 square meter sales area. Here you can find everything from high-quality equipment to second-hand items to a repair service that is offered on site. Globetrotter relies on a sustainable concept under the motto “Re:Think”, as [FashionUnited](https://fashionunited.de/nachrichten/einzelhandel/globetrotter- Feiert-neueroffnung-in-munster/2025091563406) reports.

The idea behind “Re:Think” is clear: it’s about radical new thinking. As Michael Wahner, Head of Retail at Globetrotter, explains, the concept development is not simply copied, but is specifically based on the available resources and local conditions. This is also reflected in the furnishings of the new store, for which furniture from the closed Karlsruhe store was reused. Antje Uebele from Konrad Knoblauch GmbH was the architect to implement the expansion project.

A holistic approach to sustainability

Sustainability not only shapes the concept of the new branch location, but is also anchored in Globetrotter's entire corporate philosophy. Since 2021, Globetrotter has been offering second-hand equipment in all branches and buying it back from customers. In 2022, the second-hand offer was even added online - starting with an external provider and now in our own online shop. In addition, the 17 branch workshops ensure the professional care and repair of outdoor equipment, which makes Globetrotter the largest network of its kind in Germany, as Globetrotter highlights.

Like other retail companies, Globetrotter relies on local resources and sustainable materials. The use of local wood and natural stone slabs in shop fitting is not only a sign of responsible treatment of nature, but also a response to the importance of social sustainability. An example of this is the value manufacturer AHA360°, which shows how crucial responsible store equipment can be for a sustainable business model. Customers are increasingly attaching importance to transparency regarding the origin of their products and working conditions - this is simply a must these days. AHA360° addresses these aspects and offers suitable solutions for retailers.

The opening of the new Globetrotter store in Münster is not only a step for the company itself, but also a clear signal for more responsibility in the industry. With a consistent approach to sustainability and a wide range, Globetrotter not only wants to sell products, but also create awareness of environmentally friendly shopping.
