In the heart of Gummersbach, in the Kurinchkkumaran Temple and Cultural Center, the traditional flag festival (Kodiyetram) kicked off a ten-day festival on Saturday. The entire Hindu community and interested public are warmly invited to enjoy the celebrations till June 29. These include not only religious ceremonies, but also an exciting supporting program with music and dance that keeps the cultural traditions of Hinduism alive. A colorful festival program

The highlight will be the big parade on Sunday, June 29th, which will parade through the streets of Gummersbach from 10 a.m. The moving route extends along Industriestrasse, Wiesenstrasse, Seßmarstrasse and Talstrasse. During the procession, kavadis, traditional musical instruments like thavil and nadeswaram, and participants in festive attire will fill the streets with life.
The city of Gummersbach and the Oberberg police support the security of this event, which is open to the entire community. On this day, Wiesenstrasse and Seßmarstrasse will be closed on both sides between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to ensure that the parade runs smoothly.
