Attention climate friends: Attendorn is looking for exhibitors for a major trade fair!
Something is happening in Attendorn when it comes to climate protection! The climate agency in the Olpe district has launched an exciting event. On March 8, 2026, the third climate fair will take place in the Attendorn town hall, which is organized in collaboration with the Attendorn energy fair. This event is not only intended to provide information, but also to bring together stakeholders from the region and raise awareness of important issues such as sustainability and fair trade. So reported LocalPlus.
We are looking for more exhibitors for the trade fair! Those interested can set up stands on various topics such as energy, housing, construction, renovation, climate protection, consumption and nutrition. There is also a special focus on Fairtrade – a topic that is of central importance to the event. There are planned workshops and lectures that will offer visitors more in-depth insights. If you would like to get involved, you can contact the organization team directly. Contact persons include Chiara Sopart and Katrin Schröder from the Hanseatic city of Attendorn and Meike Menn from the Olpe district.
A network for sustainability
The climate agency is pursuing a higher goal with the trade fair: to anchor sustainability and fair trade in the region in the long term and to connect people with one another. The first trade fair took place in Olpe-Dahl in 2023 and the second in Wenden in 2024, and they have shown that the need for such platforms is great. Collaboration with political actors such as the German Federal Government and organizations like the Action platform for sustainability, also provides a broader horizon for the topics covered here.
Fairtrade in particular plays an important role in the discussion about climate justice. According to information from Fairtrade An intact and sustainable environment is a basic requirement for maintaining the livelihoods of many people worldwide. Extreme weather events not only endanger the harvest and thus the income, but also the way of life of over 500 million small farming families. Events like the climate fair can make a contribution here by presenting solutions and new approaches for a more sustainable use of our resources.
This event takes an important step towards a better and fairer future. So if you want to get active, don't hesitate to find out more and put your commitment into action!
