Lichtenau-Grundsteinheim: Kasseler Straße open again after renovation!
The long-awaited return to normality in Lichtenau-Grundsteinheim has finally happened: the through town is passable again! The district road construction authority has successfully completed the extensive renovation work on Kasseler Straße (K13). This measure, which began in the summer of 2024, included three sections between the B68 and the town exit in the direction of Lichtenau-Iggenhausen. This not only increases traffic safety, but also improves comfort for all road users.
During the renovation work, the road surface was renewed and additional road ladders were installed, which were long overdue. A special highlight of the construction work is the newly constructed rainwater canal and a modern rainwater treatment plant, which ensure that rainwater can be drained away more efficiently. The total costs for this project amount to an impressive 1.8 million euros, with 75 percent of this sum being borne by the state. This clearly shows that really good investments have been made here and that this will also be felt throughout the entire region. What is particularly pleasing is that it is an important traffic artery that is now available again.
A look at the region's projects
The renovation of Kasseler Straße in Grundsteinheim is not alone, it is part of a larger trend in many communities. Similar investments in infrastructure are a sign of progress and development in other regions, such as the US state of Georgia. It shows, for example, that even in less populous counties, such as Thomas County (with a population of approximately 45,798 according to the 2020 census), work is constantly being done to improve the quality of life.
Analogous to our project here in Lichtenau-Grundsteinheim, it shows how important such investments are for the future of every community. Especially in times when communities are confronted with the challenges of infrastructure erosion, it becomes clear that it is worthwhile to plan ahead and provide the necessary resources.
In summary, it can be said that the completion of the renovation work on Kasseler Straße not only represents a relief for the citizens of Lichtenau-Grundsteinheim, but is also an example of efficient administrative action. With the common goal of constantly adapting the transport infrastructure to current needs, we can ensure that our communities are well positioned for future generations.
