“We have found that some of these sites only offer a paid reference to the responsible authority, but do not provide the actual services,” explains city spokesman Sascha Hilvervkus. The risk of becoming a victim of unlawful payments or even data misuse should not be underestimated. The fake offers primarily affect vehicle registration (i-vehicle level 4), applications for registration certificates and certificates of good conduct.

“We work tirelessly to continuously expand our online services,” adds the city administration. Many services are now offered online that previously could only be carried out on site.
