Remscheid's dream couple finds happiness and success in Innsbruck!
In the charming city of Innsbruck, where the Alps come into immediate view, two Remscheid residents have found happiness: Sina Böhne and Felix Ehmke. Both now live in a small, centrally located apartment and are completely committed to their sporting life and their academic careers. Sina, a well-known athlete with roots in the Remscheid triathlon scene, works as a pharmaceutical-commercial clerk, while Felix, a prospective civil engineer, is currently doing his doctorate. The next steps in their life together are already being planned, as the two recently got engaged.
The reason why the two chose Innsbruck is quickly explained: a thirst for adventure and the special study opportunities for Felix drew them to the Tyrolean mountains. They already feel at home here without losing the connection to their hometown of Remscheid. A nice proof of this was Sina's birthday party, which was recently celebrated with friends from Remscheid at a hut in the Zillertal.
Sporting challenges
Sina Böhne has made a name for herself not only in her professional career, but also in sport. The ambitious runner reached the podium in her age group at the last Thiersee Triathlon. Now there are further sporting challenges ahead: together with Felix they are planning to take part in the X-ray run. The half marathon, which will take place on September 20, 2025, is particularly attractive for them.
Innsbruck itself is known for its sporting diversity. Over 20 running and triathlon events are organized every year, including highlights such as the Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival and the Stubai Ultratrail. The Innsbruck Night Run and the “Tirol runs” event even offer half marathon distances. Particularly noteworthy is the Innsbruck X-Triathlon, which is one of the most famous cross-triathlon events. These events are not only well attended by local audiences, but also attract athletes from across the region.
Community and support
The 1st Tyrolean Triathlon Club Innsbruck (TTCI) plays a central role for all athletes in the region. This club recently organized the Innsbruck X-Triathlon 2025 at the Baggersee, where the enthusiasm of the athletes and spectators was palpable. “Thanks to all athletes, visitors and our great event team,” said the TTCI’s official statement on their homepage ttci.at. The club also offers memberships that include various training options in swimming, cycling and running.
Whether at the next competition or training together - Sina and Felix are ideally positioned for the challenges that sport and life in Innsbruck bring with them. After all they have accomplished, it will be exciting to see where the path takes them next.
