Karbowiak explains that the application to install the basketball hoop, which was supported by the Neuss SPD and the Greens, was submitted to the inner city district committee at the end of last year. The sports office has spread the good news that the basket is now completed and can be found at the side entrance to the stadium hall. This is particularly important because the location was chosen without any noise protection problems in order not to burden local residents.

A win for the community

The decision for the new sports facility did not come from heaven. The need was clear: there had already been basketball hoops in the Jahnstadion in the past, but these had to be removed due to noise protection requirements and the construction of garages. Karbowiak emphasizes that the new basket now represents an additional offer for children and recreational athletes that was long overdue.

When choosing the location, the city administration paid particular attention to noise protection. A place is now being created where children can play basketball carefree without the neighbors suffering. This expansion of leisure opportunities in the stadium district is a symbol of how important it is for those responsible to increase the quality of life for all citizens.

A step in the right direction

Karbowiak is very pleased with the development and the positive feedback from the population. “This is a great offer for our children and everyone who simply enjoys sports,” he says. A look into the future shows that the city of Neuss wants to continue to implement great ideas to strengthen community support and promote sporting exchange.

There is a clear message for all those who are already looking forward to the basketball game in the Jahnstadion: an important goal has been fulfilled here and a place for shared sport has been created. The time has come to properly put the ball into play!
