Last weekend, 1. FC Nordwalde won an exciting derby against Borghorster FC 3-2. This victory was not only a celebratory start, but also the unofficial starting signal for this year's fair, which opens on Friday at 3 p.m. Nordwalder's coach, Gero Mocciaro, was more than satisfied with his team's performance from the first to the last minute. After the game, he announced that he would give his team four days off from training - a well-deserved reward!
“Great performance!” – with these words Mocciaro praised his team for their solid performance. Under his leadership, the FCN began a second successful term in office. The coach, who coached the club from 2000 to 2009, has now extended his contract term until 2027. The original plan was to only stay for another year, but the club made him a convincing offer that he couldn't refuse.

Mocciaro, who began his football career at SC Nordwalde and also played for well-known clubs such as SV Wilmsberg and SC Preußen Borghorst, not only has a lot of experience as a player, but also as a coach. In his career so far he has also coached teams such as TuS Altenberge and SV Wilmsberg. His goal was always promotion to the district league, which was successfully achieved last year. Now he wants to continue the positive development.
1. FC Nordwalde is currently in 9th place in the district league with a total of 20 points. The next opponent is SC Greven 09, and Mocciaro warns his charges that the gap to the relegation places can shrink if no more points are scored. The coach relies on the “Nordwalder boys” and remains open to talented players from outside, provided they have the necessary ambition.
