Art therapy in Greven: Picobello” receives the NRW volunteer award!

An evening of recognition and inspiration: On Thursday evening, the project “Picobello – Art cleanses the soul” in the Kulturschmiede was awarded the NRW 2025 Volunteer Award in the “Women’s Power” category. The WeBiKul association, which plays a crucial role in promoting creative initiatives, presented the results of 18 months of dedicated artistic projects. This makes it clear how important creative workshops are for social cohesion and the empowerment of women in the community, as [wn.de](https://www.wn.de/muensterland/kreis-steinfurt/greven/webikul- exhibition-kunst-therapie-3328633) reports.

The NRW Volunteer Award honors projects that are particularly committed to supporting women. The “Women Power” category aims to recognize initiatives that support women in their abilities and help them find their voice in society. During the presentation in the Kulturschmiede, not only was the creative achievement acknowledged, but the lasting influence on the social fabric of the region was also highlighted.

The power of creativity

Art and social projects can often heal the deepest wounds. “Picobello” shows how creative forms of expression are used to process emotions and build community. In various workshops, women had the opportunity to exchange ideas, learn new skills and experiment in a protected environment. Such offers not only awaken creative potential, but also strengthen self-confidence. This dynamic is important not only for the participants, but also for the entire community.

Inspired by the various approaches in women's centers, as described on berlin.de, WeBiKul offers a variety of programs. These range from intercultural information sessions to creative workshops that promote social debates and dialogue between different generations of women.

A network of support

The project also addresses issues such as social, health and legal issues. The offerings not only include creative courses, but also support in filling out applications and reviewing job offers. In this way, women are comprehensively supported in the development of their resources and their personal potential.

A great opportunity for women to try out their strengths and gain self-confidence can be seen not only in art, but also in the diverse group offerings that are easily accessible. Many of the events also offer needs-based child care, creating a framework in which women can participate without barriers.

In summary, the “Picobello” project not only sets an example for the power of creativity, but also for the importance of women's networks in society. Further information and the opportunity to find out about the volunteer award and similar projects can be found at ehrenamtspreis-nrw.de.
