It looks like the summer vacation plan in Cologne is in full swing! Young people and children can look forward to a variety of exciting activities. Even if the heavens opened on Wednesday afternoon, the mood in the youth center could not be dampened. Instead of the planned scavenger hunt, the 18 participants of the “Colorful Week” preferred to make key chains. Jenny Wymbs-Wollin, the person in charge, expressed frustration with the weather, but the creative distraction was well received. This “Colorful Week” is part of an extensive summer holiday program that is offered in collaboration with numerous clubs and associations.
But there's not just a lot going on in the youth center. Another highlight for the children is coming up in Vechta. A tent camp takes place there with the motto “Middle Ages”. Here 36 children between the ages of seven and eleven can slip into the role of knights, superstars or pirates. This camp is one of the biggest challenges and at the same time the absolute highlight for many young participants. There is also a colorful program here with night hikes, a camp Olympics and even scavenger hunts that are coordinated with the motto. A very special experience where the children can learn everything about team spirit and having fun together. Registrations are possible for children aged 9 to 16 and the cost is 100 euros; siblings only pay 90 euros. You can easily get there by bus.
Diversity during the summer holidays
But the opportunities for adventure and new friendships don't end with camp. The Youth Hostel also offers a great holiday offer for children and young people aged 6 to 17. With over 100 years of experience in organizing trips for children and young people, those responsible can rely on a variety of exciting programs. The focus here is on activities such as exploring nature, making films, playing football, learning languages and many other adventures. The children are accommodated in shared rooms and receive individual care from experienced carers.
The offers are clearly structured and the prices and services are presented transparently. Healthy and freshly prepared meals also ensure that no one goes hungry. All events are designed to promote team spirit and intensive group experiences so that every child can have an unforgettable time.
