In Holzwickede, the language holiday program “FIT in German” for newly immigrated primary school children was successfully completed. The main goal of the program is to promote German language skills in an everyday environment. A space for meetings and exchange was created here in a creative way. Every day there were new mottos that captivated the children with creative craft activities, a film afternoon, a trip to DASA in Dortmund and nature experiences in the Hixterwald. Sporting activities in the gym were also not neglected. When the weather wasn't ideal, the organizers reacted flexibly and made an indoor rally possible instead of the originally planned scavenger hunt.
A successful program for integration
The teachers were impressed by the children's enthusiasm and the consistently positive feedback.
