Construction site chaos in Warendorf and Beelen: Patience is required!
From Monday, November 3, 2025, drivers in Warendorf and Beelen will have to step up a gear when it comes to time and patience. The announced construction work on the B64 and the Harsewinkler Damm will cause changes in traffic flow - for the entire period of around a year. The Warendorf municipal utilities are taking care of the expansion of the heating network and promise to supply the urban area with heat in a climate-neutral manner. You can find out exactly where this happens in the following sections.
Warendorf location: There is work going on here on several fronts. The work begins at the EmsWerk, near the Avia gas station and Netto-Markt, and extends to the B64 intersection with Oststrasse and Splieterstrasse. During this work, the newly introduced “EmsWärme” heating network will be installed, which will in future supply households with heat fed from the Ems. A local civil engineering company is carrying out this work and traffic is controlled by construction site traffic lights. Even if the situation is tense, municipal utilities and partner companies listen to the concerns of residents, businesses and road users.
Construction sites in Beelen
Things will be no less turbulent in Beelen. The Harsewinkler Damm is closed until Christmas due to bridge work. The Warendorf district is renovating the bridge over the Axtbach. While drivers have to follow detours via Greffen and Harsewinkel, cyclists and pedestrians will still have access to the construction site. Despite the inconvenience caused by this construction work, the responsible authorities are trying to keep the disruption as low as possible.
Road users are therefore asked to prepare for possible disruptions and to carefully follow the information and detour signs. It is recommended that you pass through the area with caution to avoid accidents or additional delays. The Warendorf municipal utilities attach great importance to ensuring that all work progresses as quickly and effectively as possible in order to ensure the quality of the heat supply for the citizens.
Overall, there will still be a while to wait for new roadways and a modern heating network, but the results will be just as impressive. Climate protection and the quality of life in our region are worth showing a little patience!
