Demonstrations in Münster: Massive diversions for buses on Saturday!

Tomorrow, July 5th, Münster's city center will be taken over by several demonstrations, which could also cause disruption to bus traffic. Regionalverkehr Münsterland (RVM) has already announced that significant traffic restrictions are to be expected between 9:30 a.m. and 10 p.m. The S20 and S30 bus lines are directly affected by the changes and will not run as usual. The S20 journeys towards the city center end at the Hansaring, while the S30 ends at the Willi-Brandt-Weg stop. Radio WAF reports that other lines such as the R22, R32 and night buses are also affected and recommends that passengers find out about possible diversions and disruptions before their journey.

The RVM has provided specific information about the affected bus routes. In addition to S20 and S30, the S50, S60, S70, S90/X90 and other RegioBus lines are also among the losers this day. For example, if you want to use the S50, you have to expect no stops such as Hörstertor and Hauptbahnhof. These diversions could cause difficulties not only for citizens but also for commuters on their way to work. Click here for the details!

Traffic chaos in the city center

The city center, especially the main train station and Ludgeriplatz, will temporarily not be served during the demonstrations. This can be a real problem, especially for travelers making their way to the train station. RVM boss has already asked for understanding for possible delays and restrictions.

Although the exact reasons for the demonstrations were not specified, the high number of gatherings in Münster is often reported. The last big day of action on May 31st already showed how much traffic can be slowed down if several demonstrations take place at the same time. Back then, massive traffic disruptions were expected at central points such as Servatiiplatz and in front of the main train station, and similar scenarios cannot be ruled out this time either. MS Aktuell also reports on previous incidents.

The police have announced that they will have an increased presence during the events in order to guarantee both the safety of participants and the flow of traffic. Drivers are advised to avoid the city center and instead use public transport or bicycles.

So tomorrow things will go haywire in Münster. It remains to be hoped that everyone involved will show understanding for the inconvenience and get through this eventful afternoon safely.
