First aid for kids: rescue fun in Wesel!
An exciting and educational event is on the program in Wesel: The Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) Kreisverband Wesel e.V. invites children aged 6 to 16 to a holiday course on first aid. On July 22 and 23, 2025, young participants will have the opportunity to learn important life-saving skills through playful exercises. The course takes place at Friedenstraße 66 and is divided into different age groups.
On July 22nd, children aged 6 to 10 are warmly invited, while older kids aged 11 to 16 will have their chance on July 23rd. Both courses last from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and can be booked for just 20 euros per child. This fee includes the participation of an accompanying adult, which offers parents, grandparents or other relatives a practical way to support their children.
Educational content and fun
The course provides a lot of interesting information about first aid. The children learn, among other things, how to make an emergency call, apply bandages and correctly carry out the recovery position. In addition, the atmosphere will be educational and entertaining, so that the little participants will not only learn, but also have a lot of fun. Practical exercises, an exciting tour of the mobile medical station and the emergency backpack are also part of the program. A shared breakfast ensures that hunger problems are quickly solved during the course.
In addition, the children have the opportunity to be carried through a course in a sling, which will provide some laughs and fond memories. The organizers attach great importance to ensuring that familiarization with the contents of a first aid kit is not neglected. An insight into the use and importance of these utensils will certainly open up new perspectives for the kids.
Important information about participation
Parents should know that each child must bring an accompanying adult, but one adult may accompany a maximum of two children. Please note that no separate childcare is offered and that accompanying persons are responsible for ensuring that their children remain safe during the event. If you would like to find an answer to your hunger after the course, you can also register for lunch - for example pizza - although a small amount of cash is required.
Registration and further information are available directly on the ASB website. Anyone interested can view all details about the course offerings and how to register at asb-wesel.de. This event not only promises valuable first aid skills, but also a lot of fun and good togetherness for the whole family.
First aid is not only important for humans, the skills should not be neglected in veterinary medicine either. The ASB also offers courses on first aid for dogs. Find out more about the ASB here, which can also be worthwhile if you are a potential animal lover.
