Open Monument Day in NRW: Discover our cultural treasures!
Next Sunday, September 17th, 2025, theOpen Monument Dayinstead of. On this special day, numerous historic buildings open their doors to citizens. This year’s event has the motto “Community Connects”. Around 60 monuments, including churches, castles and townhouses, will be opened to the public. Visitors can not only admire the architecture, but also learn exciting stories and background information about the buildings. The WDR reports that participation in this campaign has a long tradition and is also very popular in North Rhine-Westphalia.
This year the organizers have put together a particularly varied program. Guided tours, lectures and workshops offer something for everyone. Monument protection in NRW
Monument protection in North Rhine-Westphalia plays an important role in preserving cultural heritage.
