HandOfBlood: Creator of the Year at VideoDays – A victory for Salzgitter!
A very special event was celebrated in Cologne on October 31, 2025: the VideoDays Festival. In the middle of it all came the big surprise when HandOfBlood, whose real name was Maximilian “Hänno” Knabe, accepted the award as *Creator of the Year*. The 33-year-old content creator, originally from Salzgitter, has anything but a boring career. A total of 19 prizes were awarded during the event, which also served as a networking platform for around 800 content creators, including an honorary award.
HandOfBlood's ability to combine different genres was particularly impressive. Tobias Schiwek, managing director of We Are Era, was enthusiastic about its mix of gaming, politics, humor and music. The versatile creator spoke insightfully in a Twitch stream with Robert Habeck, the Green Party's top candidate at the time, for two hours before the federal election in January.
Award winners in online media
HandOfBlood wasn't the only winner of the night, however. Baran Kok, a talented Kurdish musician, and Marvin Wildhage, an innovative web producer, also picked up awards. Wildhage is known for his in-depth research in his YouTube videos, which deal with topics such as prostitution and the betting industry, among other things. Among the prizes was the award for Paula Enzweiler (Paula.enx), who triumphed in the sports category. Legendary Mirko received the audience award for newcomer of the year. Comedian Phil Laude, who previously demonstrated his humorous talent in the comedy trio Y-Titty, accepted the festival's honorary award.
All of this happened in the creative ambience of the Cologne E-Werk, where new ideas bubbled up and the networkers literally flew across the stage. The festival, which is considered one of the most formative events in the content creator scene, has once again shown how strong the connection is between digital content and the creative media landscape. These are exciting times for creators and those who might want to become creators.
