On September 30, 2025, an exchange of experiences for volunteer carers and health care representatives will take place at the Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler family education center. This event, hosted by rhein-ahr-anzeiger.de is organized, offers a valuable platform to discuss current challenges and exchange approaches to solutions. Those interested should hurry, because registration ends on September 29, 2025.

The organizers are the Care Association of the Evangelical Church Communities in the Rhine-Ahr Region e.V. and the SKFM - Catholic Association for Social Services for the Ahrweiler District e.V. The event is led by qualified social educator Ralph Seeger, who guides the participants through the evening. The focus is particularly on the topic “Red Cross home emergency call”, which will be presented by Marion Simonis, the team leader of the DRK-Ahrweiler.

Securing independence through home emergency calls

But what exactly does the home emergency call do? The Home emergency call not only offers security, but also independence in everyday life. It allows older people and those with health challenges to remain in their familiar surroundings while receiving quick access to help. In the event of an emergency, a portable emergency transmitter worn around the neck or as a bracelet sends a signal to the base station. This immediately establishes contact with the emergency call center.

The event also explains how the technology works and what devices are available. Drk only uses sophisticated technology from leading manufacturers to ensure a high level of security.

Additional functions for more security

The system offers a variety of additional functions that not only increase user safety, but also make everyday life easier. A key service enables access to the apartment in an emergency without causing any damage. Other useful devices such as radio smoke detectors, radio motion detectors and radio contact detectors are part of the offer, which help to react quickly in an emergency and thus save lives.

The entire process of the home emergency call system is designed to be easy to use and offers high reliability. The alarm is triggered not only by pressing a button, but also by a user who may have fallen, which is particularly important for people at risk of falling.
