In the municipality of Monsheim, the results of the most recent local elections have been determined. Last Sunday, 8,679 eligible voters went to the polls to cast their votes for the local mayors and municipal councils. The SPD retained its role as the strongest force in the Monsheim municipal council with 39.6% and a total of 11 seats, despite a slight loss of 2.7%. The FWG remains in second place with 27.0%, holding 8 seats, while the CDU has a clear increase of 4.8% to 15.4% with 4 seats. Alliance 90 / The Greens and the new voter group “Kniel” were also able to assert themselves in the political landscape, with the latter even winning an absolute majority in Mölsheim.
The elections also show a remarkable trend: local support for smaller parties and new groups of voters is constantly growing. This could become even more important in future elections, especially since local elections are often shaped by specific local issues that voters care about. Kathrin Anklam-Trapp remains a central figure in the political landscape. Her political involvement dates back to 1994, when she became a member of the Monsheim local council. She has also been represented on the local council and the Alzey-Worms district council since 1999, bringing extensive experience that she has acquired to address the needs of her community. Her application for the upcoming state election is supported by the SPD, emphasizing the importance of close contact with the mayors in the constituency.
