New board of the Dürkheim Greens: Susanne Brenzinger takes over!

Something is happening in Bad Dürkheim: The local branch of Alliance 90/The Greens has elected a new board that is supposed to bring a breath of fresh air into the party. *The Rheinpfalz* reports that the election was made up of an exciting mix of experienced and new members.

The new spokesperson, Susanne Brenzinger, will run the business together with the re-elected co-spokesperson Gerd Schneider. “We are ready to tackle the current challenges,” says Brenzinger. She succeeds Almut Bühlmeier, who is withdrawing from the role of speaker at her own request, but remains active as an assessor. Ina Gruner takes over the position of deputy speaker, while Ralph Mühlbeier was again confirmed as a link to the parliamentary group.

New board and future challenges

The new elections also brought with them fresh faces: Julia Hager, a 43-year-old computer scientist, is now on the committee and will be actively involved in the political discussions. In addition, Per Göttlicher remains involved in the board as a youth advisor, and Steffen Franck was thanked as a member. The new board will immediately start the election campaign for the 2026 state elections, with a clear view of the future.

As the GREENS in the Bad Dürkheim district emphasize, environmental and climate protection is at the top of the agenda. They also advocate for peace and an inclusive society that gives all citizens a voice. In interaction with other political levels, be it in the municipal or city council, attempts are made to find a balance that meets the needs of the community ( gruene-duew.de ).

Climate protection in focus

At a time when climate protection is becoming increasingly important, the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament has introduced an important climate protection law. The law, which was passed on July 2, 2025, stipulates that Rhineland-Palatinate should be climate neutral by 2040. The guidelines include clear reduction paths for greenhouse gas emissions and a comprehensive climate-forest offensive for reforestation and the creation of climate-stable forests ( gruene-rlp.de ).

With an ambitious goal of being fully powered by renewable energy by 2030, the GREENS are joining forces to combine ecological standards with economic reason. The new board team is a real source of hope in the fight against the climate crisis, not only for their own party, but also for the entire region.

In this sense, the GREENS look forward to citizens' engagement and are in close contact on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, BlueSky and TikTok to collect suggestions and ideas and work together on a sustainable future.
