Old Bad Kreuznach treasures: Kaul presents new photo book!

On July 11, 2025 the time has finally come: the Bad Kreuznach photographer and author Kaul presents his new work “Zeitensprünge III”. This book launch was long overdue as it had to be postponed due to health issues and the pandemic. “Zeitensprünge III” is more than just a collection of images – it is an exciting generational project that features recreated photographs of various people.

In this exciting book launch, Kaul will present two special developments from the third volume. The selection includes impressive series from emblematic places and institutions, including Millemanns Hof, the train station, the power station and the Minick Barracks. There is also detailed documentation about the numerous changes that have taken place in Middle Mannheimer and Salinenstrasse over the years.

Hidden treasures of the city

An interesting aspect of the book is the documentation of demolished properties on Salinenstrasse. These include, among others, the Diebold House and the monastery winery. These memories of bygone times allow readers to immerse themselves in history and show how complex the cityscape of Bad Kreuznach is. Kaul uses not only visual but also emotional elements to capture the changes in the city.

But it's not just in Bad Kreuznach that people are reflecting on the pandemic. The literature has also dealt intensively with the effects of COVID-19. This becomes clear in the new anthology “Pandemic: Stories about the Turning of Times,” which was published in May 2023. Edited by Hans Jürgen Kugler and René Moreau, the collection comprises 462 pages and contributions from 33 different authors. From stories about the frightening conditions during the lockdown to the question of how interpersonal relationships change in times of crisis.

Literary diversity on the pandemic

In this anthology, the stories are divided thematically into different sections such as “It can always get worse!” and “Love in times of Corona”. Each story offers a unique look at the challenges posed by the virus. In addition to entertaining and critical stories, the book also contains numerous illustrations by talented artists such as Uli Bendick and Mario Franke.

A special highlight is the teaser story “The Prepper Princess” by Christian Endres, which is available free of charge from the press network for youth issues. Priced at 28 euros until September 30th and 32 euros afterward, the anthology represents an interesting offer for anyone who wants to engage with literature about the pandemic.

Numerous other book publications about the virus and its effects have also appeared. Here is a small overview of some notable titles:
