Exciting wine experience: SCW Windecken on a discovery tour in Bad Kreuznach!

The 1940 Windecken ski and hiking club set off on an exciting journey on October 18, 2025. The trip to Bad Kreuznach, a city that is best known for its impressive sights, started with a large coach and 42 enthusiastic participants. After a stay of around three hours, the guests had the opportunity to marvel at the bridge houses over the Nahe, explore the pedestrian zone and take a break in cozy cafés.

Bad Kreuznach is a charming town in the Nahe Valley in Rhineland-Palatinate that can look back on a long history. With around 51,000 inhabitants and known as the oldest radon brine bath in the world, the city has developed into a popular spa town. For the participants of the excursion it was a real pleasure to walk along the Via Historica to stroll, which leads from the tourist information center through the city center, the old town and the castle park. The Old Nahe Bridge, a landmark dating back to 1300, was admired, and the historic bridge houses, built between 1480 and 1600, provided a glimpse into the city's fascinating history.

Wine tasting and socializing

After the city tour, the second stop was in the picturesque Aspisheim, where a wine tasting was included in the program at the Gruber winery. Here there was not only a variety of wines to taste, but also exciting information about the peculiarities of cultivation and the geographical location of the vines. After staying for more than four hours, the tour group finally began the journey back to Windecken. With wonderful weather and full hearts, a day like this goes by in a flash.
