There was a serious accident in Talling at the weekend, which once again highlights the dangers of driving too fast and the influence of alcohol on the roads. On the night of Saturday, August 9th, 2025, to Sunday, August 10th, around 4 a.m., a 19-year-old driver overturned his vehicle on the L150 while trying to overtake another car at high speed. The driver lost control of his car when re-merging, collided with two trees and rolled over several times. Rescue efforts began immediately and the injured driver was taken to a hospital in Trier in an ambulance. He only stayed there for observation over the weekend. A blood sample was also taken because the influence of alcohol was determined. The property damage is estimated to be in the low five-figure range. The fire department, an emergency service and the police from Morbach were on site. A neutral witness immediately reported the accident, which helped the police quickly get the situation under control.

The accident in question is not the only incident that occurred at the critical point. Another serious accident occurred on September 11, 2024 at the L150/K76 intersection in Talling. A 67-year-old woman who wanted to turn onto the L150 collided head-on with a van that had the right of way. This incident resulted in several seriously injured people, both on the side of the person who caused the accident and in the van. There was total economic damage to both vehicles and the federal highway had to be closed for several hours while the accident site was cleared.
