Joint 115 service center: Eifelkreis and neighbors now easier to reach!

A new era of citizen communication is taking off in the Eifel! The districts of Bitburg-Prüm, Cochem-Zell and Vulkaneifel are joining forces and starting a joint service center under the nationwide authority number 115. This makes it easier than ever to contact the administration and clarify questions.

Anyone who would like to contact the administration can now dial 115. This number offers central access to general inquiries about district administrations. The service center can be reached by telephone Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Anyone who has concerns about association communities can receive the relevant contact details directly via 115. This measure aims to unify the existing telephone exchanges of the three administrations and to offer citizens improved access and a higher quality of service. Wochenspiegellive reports that the state of Rhineland-Palatinate is also supporting the initiative as part of the IKZ model project “Eifel-Mosel-Hunsrück”.

Efficient use of resources

The shared service center will not only increase accessibility, but also contribute to increasing efficiency in administration. The project relies on optimal staff deployment, which is intended to reduce costs. From April 2024, the Eifel district of Bitburg-Prüm and the Vulkaneifel district will be integrated into the system, after the Cochem-Zell district has had its own service center since 2017.

115 is basically free, only the telephone costs are charged to the respective provider. Calls from German landlines can be made at the usual local rate, although the number is also included in many mobile phone flat rates. However, if you call from abroad, you should be prepared for possibly higher charges. This information can be viewed on 115.de.

Always available, even digitally

Another goal of 115 is the integration of digital administrative services within the framework of the Online Access Act (OZG). In the future, information on digital offerings will also be provided. That's not all: If you call outside of service hours, that's no problem either. A recorded announcement is switched on - and the costs for this are of course free of charge.

This initiative represents a significant step towards greater transparency and accessibility of municipal services. Citizens in the districts can look forward to improved communication and can rely on the fact that their concerns will be addressed accordingly. A good deal for everyone who values service and speed!
