Singing together for a good cause: Queen project in Hagenbach!

Music brings people together – and in Hagenbach it does so in a particularly relaxed way! For the second time, the Chorwerk Hagenbach invites all Queen fans to celebrate the legendary band's rock classics together. The new project “One Vision Vol. 2” starts on August 21, 2025 at 5:45 p.m. in the Berg community hall. The musical direction is the responsibility of the talented Julia Funk-Balzer, who was already in charge of the first part of the project.

The repertoire will include 16 Queen hits and is aimed at all ages. Don't worry: there are no auditions or special knowledge of music required, just a willingness to take part in rehearsals regularly. These take place twice a month, on Thursdays. All participants are also invited to take part in a rehearsal weekend. The first major presentation is scheduled for June 2026. Uli Steinmann, a board member of the Chorwerk, emphasizes the increasing demand for further projects, especially after the successful first part of “One Vision”, which brought 65 singers on stage and thrilled 650 concert guests. Anyone who would like to register by August 18th can do so on the Chorwerk website or by email. The one-off cost is 45 euros, and sheet music and practice parts are available online to support you. If you would like to know more, you are welcome to take a look at Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or YouTube.

Future performances will form the framework

But before “One Vision Vol. 2” starts, another concert will take place on November 11th and November 25th, 2025 in the Hagenbach Cultural Center and in the Kandel town hall. Then, among others, 65 singers from the project will be on stage together with MGV Frohsinn Kandel and enchant the listeners with popular Queen hits. There will be a musical fireworks display together with the Wörth band Hörenswörth. Entry costs 16 euros in advance and it is recommended to secure tickets well in advance as it is rumored that there will be no box office.

Those interested can purchase tickets at various advance booking offices, including the Tibor cleaning service in Hagenbach and the Rothaas bakery in Neuburg. Tickets can also be reserved directly from Uli Steinmann.

The power of choral singing

But what makes choral singing so special? According to the organization Interkultur, singing not only promotes a sense of community, but also has numerous health benefits. It is important that choirs create safe spaces for everyone - regardless of whether they are already experienced singers or simply want to share the love of music. Projects like the Chorwerk Hagenbach make it clear how complex and inclusive choral singing can be. This is an example of community cohesion and everyone is invited to raise their voices.

With its projects and the invitation to participate in “One Vision”, the Chorwerk Hagenbach has created an atmosphere in which people of all ages and backgrounds can meet. Whether you are an experienced chorister or a hobby singer – everyone is welcome here to live music together!
