New President Tobias Eisert heads the Koblenz Regional Court!

Since July 2025, the Koblenz Regional Court has had a new president: Tobias Eisert, who has now taken over the management of the largest regional court in Rhineland-Palatinate. The official change of office was celebrated by Justice Minister Philipp Fernis in a celebratory ceremony that attracted numerous guests from politics, administration and the judiciary. Antenne KH reports that Minister Fernis maintained the region's close ties to the Koblenz justice location on this occasion.

Tobias Eisert succeeds Stephan Rüll, who retired after eight years in office and a total of 34 years in the judicial service. Minister Fernis praised Rüll as a passionate and experienced lawyer who headed the Koblenz Regional Court from 2017 to 2025. Rüll's career in the Rhineland-Palatinate judiciary began in 1991, and during this time he gained experience at various courts, including the Koblenz Higher Regional Court. News Regional highlights that Rüll also worked in the Higher Regional Court and as Vice President.

Tobias Eisert's path to the presidency

Tobias Eisert brings a wealth of experience with him, having started his career at the Koblenz Regional Court in 1995. He showed his abilities early on and subsequently worked in various positions, such as at the Koblenz District Court and Regional Court as well as secondments to the Higher Regional Court and the Ministry of Justice. In 2015 he took over the presidency of the Bad Kreuznach regional court and headed the Mainz regional court from February 2020 to June 2025 before taking on responsibility in Koblenz.

The Koblenz Regional Court, which looks after 15 district courts from Altenkirchen to Cochem, employs around 275 people, including almost 90 judges. This institution is a central judicial location for the region between the Rhine, Moselle and Nahe. The importance of the court in the Rhineland-Palatinate judicial landscape is undisputed, and Minister Fernis expressed great confidence in the abilities of Tobias Eisert as President of the Regional Court.

A look into the future

With Tobias Eisert at the helm, the Koblenz Regional Court remains not only a central contact point for legal matters, but also a place that maintains contact with the Bad Kreuznach region. The change at the top brings a breath of fresh air and promises that the tradition of excellent jurisprudence in Koblenz will continue under his leadership. It remains to be hoped that the judiciary in the region will continue to be well positioned and will support citizens in difficult times.
