DLRG Kusel exceeds expectations at the Ostfriesland Trophy!
The DLRG Kusel impressively demonstrated its skills as lifeguards at the DLRG Trophy I in Weener/Ostfriesland. The athletes returned satisfied with various final runs and several notable placements. What is particularly noteworthy is that the DLRG Kusel also took part in the Felke Cup in Bad Sobernheim, a friendly competition that offered some participants their first competitive experience. Excellent placements were also achieved here, which is a sign of the good work in training and the talented youth. The DLRG competitions help to continually improve the athletes' swimming and rescue skills and maintain them at a high level. As rheinpfalz.de reports, the team shows what is possible in the open water Bundesliga.
At the DLRG Trophy I, the participants of the DLRG Kusel, including Hannah Didas, Elli Gretzschel, Philip Krebs, Emma Pretz and Marie Schneider, achieved remarkable successes. Emma Pretz placed 5th in the Surf Race final and also placed 15th in the Oceanwoman and Board Races. Philip Krebs competed in a final for the first time in his first participation and finished in 25th place in the surf race. The other athletes also performed well and were able to qualify for the intermediate races in the beach flags.
Relay competitions
The team experienced the following results in the relay competitions:
- 11. Platz im „Board Rescue Race“ (Pretz/Didas)
- 12. Platz im „Tube Rescue Race“ (Pretz, Didas, Gretzschel, Schneider)
- 13. Platz in der „Oceanwoman Relay“ (Didas, Pretz, Gretzschel, Schneider)
The team was supervised by Andreas Kauf, who prepared his athletes excellently for the competitions. There were also impressive results at the Felke Cup, where the DLRG Kusel secured podium places. Linus Veit and Jakob Veit took first places in their age groups, while Jannis Nentwich and Mika Hinkelmann were honored with silver medals. For many people, participation is an important step towards further development in the rescue sport.
Team spirit and future challenges
Not only the performance in the water, but also the team spirit are very important at the DLRG Kusel. This is also made clear by the support team led by Lea Lißmann, who support the young swimmers on the way to their goals. Matthias Lofi and Matthias Schnitzer acted as judges at the Felke Cup and contributed to the successful execution of the event.
The DLRG is not only involved locally, but also at an international level. As dlrg.de informs, the DLRG takes part in the World Lifesaving Championships and the World Games, which take place every four years. These competitions are a great opportunity not only for the athletes to demonstrate their skills, but also for the versatility and commitment of the club.
In the future, the DLRG Kusel will continue to take part in national and international competitions and take on the next challenges, because the passion for water and the desire to help cannot be easily stopped. The athletes and coaches are looking forward to the upcoming events and may soon have new successes to celebrate.
