Kusel district: 1.7 million euros secured for 20 future projects!

Something is happening in the Kusel district: With strong support from the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, improvised structures can be reconsidered and strengthened. The district will receive a fine 1.7 million euros from this Regional future program, which has a total budget of 200 million euros. The aim of this program is to provide support to municipalities with particular structural challenges.

How exactly should the funds be used? The administration in the district has drawn up a list of around 20 projects into which the funds will flow. These include exciting projects such as the renovation of the Fritz-Wunderlich-Halle with 400,000 euros, the greening of the facade of the secondary school plus Lauterecken for 100,000 euros, as well as a new, larger accommodation building in the Bambergerhof youth leisure center, which is being funded with 160,000 euros. District Administrator Otto Rubly (CDU) is pleased, but emphasizes that the allocation of the money could have been more straightforward.

Funding goes all the better

The distribution of funding is clearly regulated. Around 3.8 million euros flow into the Kusel-Altenglan municipality, 2.9 million euros into the VG Lauterecken-Wolfstein and around 4.7 million euros into the Obere Glantal. In addition, applications for funding for various measures, such as strengthening infrastructure or climate protection, can be submitted until August 31st. Funding of up to 100 percent is possible - making investing twice as much fun!

A total of over 13.1 million euros are currently available, which can be applied for by the municipalities in the Kusel district. This is part of a comprehensive plan that was passed in the state parliament in February. State Secretary Simone Schneider will be on site in Bledesbach on March 20th to discuss further information and details with interested citizens. The Regional future program pursues a clear line: the living conditions in the different regions should be equalized while at the same time the individual identity of the districts is preserved.

What's next?

The Kusel district should steer into the future with a clever plan and a well-thought-out strategy. The Regional future program has come to stay and will respond to the needs of the communities in the next funding period. This will not only provide fresh impetus this year, but will also benefit the community in the long term. Community developers and citizens got a good deal here!
