NABU calls for support: Protect our nature together!
The Nature Conservation Association (Nabu) is looking for new friends and supporters: next July, a large-scale member recruitment campaign will start in Landau and the Bad Bergzabern community. As the Rhine Palatinate reports, a dedicated employee on site will actively approach potential supporters and promote Nabu's diverse projects.
Nabu looks back on over 50 years of successful nature conservation work in the region. The association's focus is on landscape conservation, species protection and environmental education. The focus is on protecting over seven hectares of biotope areas, including magnificent orchards and important wetlands. In addition to the classic nature conservation tasks, excursions, workshops and exciting holiday programs for children, young people and adults are also offered. Particularly pleasing: A new children's and youth group was recently founded, which offers young people new perspectives in nature conservation.
Volunteering and Federal Voluntary Service
For all those who would like to get actively involved, Nabu offers the opportunity to complete a voluntary ecological year at the Hirtenhaus Nature Conservation Center. This initiative is not only a great way to get to know nature better, but also to gain valuable experience. Anyone interested can contact Nabu directly; Contact can be made by telephone at 06341-3526 or by email nabu.landau-stadt@nabu-rlp.de.
The Federal Voluntary Service, which is part of the Germany-wide commitment to nature conservation, is open to everyone. Federal volunteers have the opportunity to become active in one of Nabu's numerous deployment locations. The tasks include mapping nature worthy of protection, communicating nature experiences and developing local environmental projects. Further information on registration can be found on the NABU website nabu.de.
Ecological Federal Voluntary Service
The Federal Ecological Voluntary Service (ÖBFD) was also created for people aged 25 and over in order to give older volunteers the opportunity to get involved in nature conservation. Around 1,000 volunteers have been active in Berlin for over 10 years to support various nature and environmental protection projects. These positions offer a valuable opportunity to bridge an employment gap or simply experience a change of heart after many years in the workforce. More information can be found on stiftung-naturschutz.de.
Nabu welcomes anyone who would like to help – be it through voluntary support or financial contributions. Every form of help brings nature conservation work a little closer, because only together can we succeed in preserving our valuable nature!
