Summer concert highlight: Unavantaluna inspires in Landau!

Visitors to the Frank Loeb House in Landau experienced a summer evening full of music and emotions. On August 12, 2025, the musical group Unavantaluna from Sicily performed and catapulted the audience into a world full of extraordinary sounds. This performance was the crowning conclusion of this year's summer concerts, which took place in the historic walls. The ambience of the courtyard, surrounded by Gothic elements and a charming wooden gallery, created a very special atmosphere.

The musicians Pietro Cernuto, Carmelo Cacciola and Francesco Salvadore presented a captivating program that captivated everyone present. A mild summer evening created the ideal conditions to enjoy the brilliant final chord of the concert series. The performance reflected Sicily's diverse culture and musical tradition and was rewarded with great applause.

Historical framework

The Frank-Loebsche Haus at Kaufhausgasse 9 has an eventful history. With its oldest building elements from the 15th century and Gothic style elements, it is a magnificent testimony to bygone times. It has been known as the “Zur Blum” inn since the 17th century, before it became the focus of the history of Landau's Jews. What is particularly striking is that it served as a “Jewish house” during the National Socialist tyranny, from which many Jewish citizens were deported.

The permanent exhibition on the history of Landau's Jews and changing art exhibitions invite visitors to engage with this important topic. The house not only offers cultural but also historical added value, which, in combination with events such as the summer concerts, arouses people's interest.

A look outside the box

The summer concerts in the Frank-Loebschen Haus are part of a diverse cultural program offered in the Rhineland-Palatinate region. During the Culture Mile on the banks of the Rhine in Mainz, over 34,000 people attended various events ranging from music festivals to theater performances. The opening ceremony of the cultural summer showed once again how art and culture can bring people together, regardless of age and origin. In this context, smaller events, such as those in the Frank-Loebschen Haus, are also experiencing a renewed revival.

The combination of historical background, cultural heritage and lively musical performances makes the Frank-Loebsche Haus a special place whose events are very popular.
