Andrea Kiewel inspires with a vintage flea market in the ZDF television garden!
The “ZDF TV Garden” attracted attention on June 8th with an exciting motto: “Vintage flea market” was popular. The event took place on the Lerchenberg in Mainz and offered a colorful range of offerings from old shoes to board games and fashionable vintage clothing. Andrea Kiewel, who moderates the “TV Garden”, not only provided entertainment, but also interaction with the audience. She encouraged the audience to join in and even got some to crochet - even if a male audience member didn't really want to join in and used his injured finger as an excuse. But Kiewel didn't let him get away with it and urged him to try anyway. There was really something going on that day!
Guests included actress Susan Sideropoulos, known from “Good Times, Bad Times”. But that wasn't all! The show also featured performances by Jimmy Kelly & The Streetorchestra, Florian Künstler, Joey Heindle, Brings and many other artists. Andrea Kiewel also showed herself to be a “crochet influencer” and caused a few laughs among the viewers who were able to experience the show live the previous week - the co-host Hans Sigl even pushed her into a pool!
The “ZDF TV Garden” through the ages
Andrea Kiewel, who has regularly presented “ZDF- Fernsehengarten” since 2000, is already celebrating her 25th anniversary in this role. The big highlight is coming up on June 15th, where a special anniversary event is planned. Musical performances are planned with Katja Ebstein, Marianne Rosenberg and Guildo Horn, to name just a few of the musical greats. Joachim Llambi, René Casselly and Kathrin Menzinger will provide the dance entertainment.
The last edition achieved a market share of 17.8 percent with 1.88 million viewers, making it the strongest of the current season. The “ZDF TV Garden” has enjoyed great popularity for around 40 years and regularly attracts viewers with varied live music and a colorful program.
Uncertainty about anniversary moderation
However, a downer overshadows the anniversary: Andrea Kiewel currently lives in Tel Aviv and there are uncertainties about her journey to Germany. Due to the escalated conflict between Israel and Iran, Ben Gurion International Airport is temporarily closed to departures and arrivals. A ZDF spokesman confirmed that it is currently unclear whether Kiewel will be able to appear for moderation as planned. Joachim Llambi was supposed to appear as her co-host on the anniversary show, but the situation remains tense. Kiewel had originally planned to fly to Germany on Sunday evening to host the event. If that doesn't work, ZDF will inform you in good time about a possible replacement.
The next “ZDF TV Garden” event on June 15th promises to be another fantastic experience, no matter how it turns out in the end. The fans can be excited and are sure that Kiewel will manage to have a good hand and inspire everyone present despite obstacles.
