Enjoy nature: Guided bike tour to Aumühle on July 19th!
The ADFC Neustadt/Haßloch local group invites all bicycle enthusiasts to a guided bike tour on Saturday, July 19, 2025. The starting shot will be fired at 10 a.m. at Café Winzig on the festival meadow in Neustadt. The destination of the tour is the idyllic Aumühle in the forest, before heading back again after about 45 kilometers. The return is scheduled for around 3 p.m. The route mostly runs over flat terrain, which makes it particularly attractive for families and less experienced cyclists. Registration is recommended and can simply be done by email to Norbert Benz at norbert-benz@gmx.de.
If you want to discover the beauty of the surrounding area, you shouldn't miss the interactive map of the tour, which is available on the Südwestpfalz Touristik website. Here you can also find practical tour maps to print out and GPS tracks for smartphones. This tour is a great introduction to the natural splendor of the region and includes, among other things, the impressive Palatinate Forest biosphere.
Insights into the biosphere reserve
The biosphere reserves are true treasures of nature. The Palatinate Forest Biosphere Reserve in the south is recognized by UNESCO as the first cross-border biosphere reserve in Europe. The landscape is characterized by dense forests and open valley meadows interspersed with charming towns. The rich flora and fauna contributes significantly to this.
The cycle paths around the biosphere reserve offer a great deal of variety and are ideal for day trips. In total, 80% of the paths lead over forestry and farm roads, which guarantees particularly quiet journeys. There are numerous charging stations available for e-bike riders, and the gentle climbs are easy to manage.
Further offers and recommendations
