There was great anticipation when the first of two performances of the children's play “The Pirate Princess” took place at the Rommersdorf Festival today. The piece, which is performed by the Freie Bühne Neuwied, is aimed primarily at children and impresses with an exciting story about the courageous pirate princess Lucy.
The action begins on Captain White Bird's ship, where turbulent events cause excitement. The helmsman Mac Monkey is suspicious because he pulled in the anchor on his own during the night and left the crew on a deserted island. Now it's up to Lucy, along with Billy, the ship's cook, and her faithful parrot, to prevent the planned mutiny. The enthusiastic spectators were carried away by the lovingly designed large puppets and the impressive acting performances by Tammy Sperlich and Boris Weber. [Rhein-Zeitung].

With a colorful mix of acting, puppetry and music, under the musical direction of Bernd Höfer, “The Pirate Princess” is an entertaining pirate musical that captivates young and old alike. The actors and the talented team behind the scenes, including set designer Claudia Mohr and puppet makers Barbara and Günter Weinhold, ensure a first-class theater experience.
