Mayor Reith on tour: your questions, his answers!

The mayor of Lambsheim-Heßheim, Michael Reith (SPD), shows himself to be a real doer and invites the residents to a citizens' reception. This will take place on Friday, August 29th, at 6 p.m. in the Liederkranz Beidersheim singers' home. The population has the opportunity to voice concerns and find out about current developments in their place of residence. This is part of Reith's commitment to promote direct contact with citizens, which also reflects the conciliatory task of a mayor, who, according to Wikipedia, leads the administration of a municipality and represents it externally.

But that's not the only date: Reith will tour through the villages of the municipality on a total of three Saturdays. On September 20th there will be talks in the Heßheim school sports hall from 10 a.m., which will also include a hobby art exhibition. Afterwards we go to the local museum in Heuchelheim at 2 p.m. A week later, on September 27th, citizens are invited to the discussion in the Lambsheim Citizens' Hall and the adjacent green area from 10 a.m. before the action moves to the Kleinniedesheim Palace Pavilion at 2 p.m. And that's not all: On October 11th, the mayor will take part in "Niddsem hikes" in Großniedesheim, where discussions are planned from 3 p.m. at the fire department and on the hiking route.

A mayor in direct dialogue

Michael Reith's approach is not only a sign of citizen-oriented politics, but also reflects the basic tasks of a mayor, which differ depending on the municipal code. In Germany, where there are around 10,788 municipalities, 40 percent have a full-time mayor who, among other things, is elected directly by citizens almost everywhere, such as in North Rhine-Westphalia, where the term of office is five years.

Reith's initiative to directly address local problems and offer solutions is highly valued by many citizens. His commitment is seen as an example of the role of the mayor, not only as head of the administration, but also as a link between the population and political decision-makers. Such events create a platform where citizens can find a space for their concerns and receive direct feedback.

At a time when contact between decision-makers and citizens is often neglected, Michael Reith's tour is a sign that dialogue should be maintained. The residents of Lambsheim-Heßheim can already look forward to the various events that are not only informative, but are also intended to strengthen the sense of community. This is a good opportunity for everyone to bring their questions and issues directly to the table and see how their mayor works with them to find solutions.
