Fußgönheim: Colorful Christmas market attracts thousands to the castle barn!
The anticipation of the Christmas season is growing in Fußgönheim, because next weekend the traditional Fußgönheim pre-Christmas will take place in the castle barn. This year, the Christmas craft market, organized by the Fußgönheim local and cultural group, is being held for the 45th time. The event promises to be a highlight in the region, and the first visitors are already lining the streets before the opening.
As rheinpfalz.de reports, around 600 tickets had already been sold in the early afternoon. The market will not only score points with its rustic atmosphere, but also with the variety and quality of the offerings. The surrounding museums also open their doors so that guests can spend several hours in the festive atmosphere and are willing to spend some money.
A market full of special features
Wood is particularly popular on the market. Many exhibitors present unique wooden works of art. Dermot O’Brien from Neustadt shows impressive sculptures that are reminiscent of flames. Elke Mayer from Mannheim specializes in refining wooden objects with paintings and nostalgic motifs. Another highlight are the hand-made nativity creations by Germund Pfeifer, which are presented in wine boxes and are each unique.
Cornelia Schirmer from Offenheim specializes in painted and wax-decorated Christmas tree baubles, while Werner Müller personalizes Christmas baubles and leather ribbons with individual names. Annemarie Dexheimer also offers handmade rings and pendants made of silver. New exhibitors this year are Martina Heitzmann-Schulz with her floristry and paper works and Maria Dech with Christmas ceramics.
Colorful diversity
The predominant colors on the market are warm tones such as red, green and natural white. The organizing team around Uwe Seifert has put a lot of effort into creating offers that suit every taste and budget. The family atmosphere of the market is very much appreciated by the exhibitors, which adds to its appeal.
The Fußgönheim pre-Christmas event opens its doors on November 15th and 16th from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Entry costs three euros, while children and young people can take part for free. So it's an ideal place to get into the Christmas spirit and maybe grab a gift or two.
Although the pre-Christmas season in Fußgönheim is just around the corner, the political landscape does not go unnoticed. In Texas, Governor Greg Abbott has announced his intention to run for a fourth term. Abbot, who has held his seat since 2015, has introduced a number of legislative initiatives, including measures to reduce property taxes. His announcement has caused a stir in the US and is being followed closely. For more information, visit cbsnews.com.
There is a lot to report, both from Fußgönheim and across the pond, where the elections are already underway and the tone of politics does not fall silent even during the Christmas season.
