Big events are casting their shadows ahead: From July 25th to 27th, 2025, Ludwigshafen's city center will once again be transformed into a pulsating center for art and culture. The 24th International Street Theater Festival invites you to linger, marvel and enjoy in the open air. The opening of the festival will take place on July 25th at 8 p.m. in the festival center on Karl-Kornmann-Platz, where the Rumpel-Pumpel-Theater will delight the audience with an anarchic crime parody called “The Hotel in the Carousel”. The entire festival is part of the Rhineland-Palatinate Cultural Summer and is supported by the Ministry for Family, Women, Culture and Integration. Sparkasse Vorderpfalz is the main sponsor, while BASF SE sponsors the “Piazza Sonata” venue.

Diverse performances and interactive offers

The festival not only offers entertaining performances for the grown-ups, but also exciting formats for the little ones. A special piece is designed for babies and toddlers, and interactive hands-on activities under the motto “Forever Young” invite young and old to take part. In addition to the variety of imaginative and artistic productions, the hula hoop queens from “Hopscotch” can also be admired at the workshop on the new Hochstraße Süd.

The festival also provides a critical look at social issues: the pieces “Dancing Queer” by Shrouk El-Attar and “Limbo” by Sonja Schebeck and Josh Frazer are presented, among other things, which stimulate thought.
