A new wind in the district hall: Hauck and Zimmer take on key positions!

The personnel situation in the district hall of the Rhine-Palatinate district has recently changed: Thomas Baader, the long-time head of the youth welfare office, has ended his career and is going into a well-deserved retirement. His successor is Thomas Hauck, previously head of the public order office (Department 2 - Law, Order and Traffic). This reports Rhine Palatinate.

At the age of 54, Hauck is celebrating a comeback in familiar surroundings. He began his career in district administration straight after school, purposefully rising through the middle and later into the senior non-technical administrative service. After starting as a district inspector in 1994, several promotions followed, including being appointed district chief inspector in 1998. He made a name for himself in various specialist areas before taking over the management of the law, order and traffic department in 2018. Now he is returning to his roots in the youth welfare office, where he has already worked in various functions.

New challenges

Thomas Hauck is aware of the challenges that lie ahead of him. “Educational assistance, youth protection and the concerns of young people in the district will continue to be a central topic for me in the future,” he said recently. Returning to this important department, which was always a strong focus under Baader, is an exciting task for Hauck.

Another personnel change concerns Torsten Zimmer, Hauck's long-time deputy. Zimmer, who took over management of Department 2 at the age of 46, brings a lot of experience with him. He began his civil service career at the Ludwigshafen city administration, where he was primarily active in immigration and social matters. He later moved to the district administration and worked in various functions, including municipal supervision. His tasks included, among other things, election preparation, which shows that he is not only technically savvy, but also has a good hand for administrative challenges.

Future outlook

With Thomas Hauck and Torsten Zimmer at the head of the departments, the Rhine-Palatinate district can rely on a solid management structure. While Hauck celebrates his return to the youth welfare office, Zimmer will approach his new responsibility as head of Department 2 with a breath of fresh air and technical enthusiasm. Both bring a wealth of experience and commitment that should enable them to master the tasks ahead with flying colors.
