Vintage car hiking 2025: A festival of historic vehicles in the Southern Palatinate!

The second weekend in September is a busy time in the Southern Palatinate! On September 9th and 10th you are invited to go on a vintage car hike. This popular event, organized by Karsten Heidlauf, promises to be one of the largest gatherings of historic vehicles in Germany. With over 3,000 long-awaited participants from Germany and neighboring countries, there is a lot on offer. The Heidlauf-Classics event attracts both vintage and classic car enthusiasts and includes not only cars but also mopeds, motorcycles, tractors and trucks. You can also admire the old treasures in action.

Participants will travel a scenic route of more than 140 kilometers, passing through the region's magnificent wine landscape and even reaching as far as Alsace. The route runs from Weißenburg in the south to Maikammer in the north and from Steinfeld in the east to Annweiler in the west. The many individual stops offer an excellent opportunity to enjoy not only the vehicles, but also the beautiful surroundings and taste regional specialties.

A celebration for the whole family

The event promises a relaxed atmosphere that includes both drivers and spectators. Positive feedback from locals and tourists is the best sign that vintage hiking is an integral part of the region. Over 20 stops invite collectors to take a leisurely break, including some private collections and presentations from local clubs and companies.
