Last weekend, the sixth edition of the historic airfield race took place at Zweibrücken airfield, and the event attracted around 2,000 enthusiastic visitors. With a varied program that included vintage car parades through the city center to the castle, a truly nostalgic welcome was given, like the Rhine Palatinate reported. The participants were able to demonstrate their skills in uniform and presentation runs. The young people from the ADAC regional clubs Palatinate and Saarland were particularly happy, as they were able to test their skills on a kart course.
Amid this happy atmosphere, organizer Wolfgang Heinz recalled a tragic incident in Völklingen, which gave the event a thoughtful note. Nevertheless, the historic formula cars, vintage cars and racing cars were the focus of the action, and the participants took the opportunity to compete in various activities such as demo drives and competition runs. A special feature this year was the vintage car parade on Friday afternoon, which celebrated the event's five-year anniversary. This spectacular ride ensured that the nostalgia of the automotive past filled the streets of Zweibrücken.
