Time travel through Clausen: exciting tour for history buffs!

Something exciting is happening in the charming community of Clausen in the Palatinate: The Clausen Cultural and Tourist Association, in collaboration with the dedicated tour guide Anke Vogel, has launched the “Hausen in Clausen” journey through time. This unique tour aims to tell the rich history of the village in a vivid way. Originally the association just wanted to encourage a tour, but at Vogel's suggestion they decided to take an active part themselves. Almost 20 of the 130 club members take on different roles and bring the history of the place to life.

Preparations for this project have been in full swing for a year now. On Saturday, July 26th, from 4 p.m., those interested can go on an approximately 2.5 kilometer long circular route that includes twelve stations. The highlights include the old village fountain, the valley road, the church and the old wheelwrighting workshop. The tour not only provides exciting insights into the past, but also allows participants to experience the beauty of the old town up close. There are already 50 registrations and there is no limit on participants.

An exciting journey through time

The topics of the tour are diverse and range from the Celts to the Romans to the French Revolution and the events of the 18th and 19th centuries. Contemporary episodes, such as the protest against the American withdrawal of troops from the special weapons depot, are also covered. This thematic mix ensures an exciting and educational journey through the history of Clausen.

The starting point of the tour is the festively decorated village square, where participants are treated to Palatinate specialties. The “Hausen in Clausen” event lasts around two to two and a half hours; Afterwards there is the opportunity to linger in the village square and enjoy the local atmosphere. Anke Vogel, the friendly tour guide, not only provides the costumes, but also her passion for history. If you are interested, you should contact her on 0152 21664944 or AnkeVogel@g-ig.de.
