According to the ADAC accident analysis More than a third of motorcycle accidents are solo accidents, which are often caused by driving errors or excessive speed.
With around 4.7 million motorcycles registered in Germany, motorcycles have a four times higher risk of being involved in an accident. What is particularly striking is that motorcyclists have an accident rate that is seven times higher than drivers. More than 500 motorcyclists are involved in accidents every day, with the number of seriously injured bikers increasing. The ADAC analysis also recommends technical solutions to avoid accidents, including cornering ABS and defensive driving behavior.
This incident reminds us how important road safety is. Whether in the country or in the city, motorcycles require special attention, both from the riders themselves and from other road users. It is therefore definitely worth carrying out regular safety checks and taking part in driving safety training to prevent such accidents. After all, motorcycle rides should be fun and not end in tragedy.
