Jazz morning pint in Homburg: Eva Emingerová delights the audience!
On Saturday lunchtime, the guests of the Homburg Music Summer experienced a very special event on the historic market square. The well-known singer Eva Emingerová was in the spotlight, while the Metropolitan Jazz Band from Prague set off musical fireworks and took visitors on an unforgettable journey through time. So reported Rhine Palatinate.
The event was enthusiastically received by visitors, not least because of the rousing program offered by the band and Emingerová. Their performance of “What a Wonderful World” was reminiscent of the iconic sounds of Louis Armstrong and gave you goosebumps. Together with a dream song and the band's special flair, a musical experience was created that was considered the surprise of the day for some visitors.
Jazz and more
The Homburg Music Summer extends over several weeks and includes a total of 32 concerts until mid-September. On the first two days of July, July 11th and 12th, various performances took place on the historic market square. On Friday evening, the band BabaShango opened the series of concerts with a mix of Afrofunk, disco and soul in German. Their frontman, OQ, leads the audience through the evening with ease as a storyteller, healer and entertainer.
The events are not only important musically, but also for the region. The city of Homburg allows entry to all of these concerts free of charge, which makes the events particularly attractive for families and younger visitors. If there is an increased number of visitors, there may be temporary road closures in the market square area to ensure safety, as explained on the official website of the city of Homburg. The program brochures, which provide an overview of the entire offering, are also available there: Homburg.de.
A look into the jazz scene
The Metropolitan Jazz Band, founded in 1972 by trumpeter Josef Krajník, impresses with a repertoire that ranges from Dixieland to swing to Latin. Such events are part of a lively jazz scene that also has a home in many other cities such as Cologne, Bremen and Berlin jazz-fun.de is to be read.
