Zweibrücken: Record number of 1,315 runners in the 2025 company run!
On Wednesday evening, the square in front of Zweibrücken Castle was transformed into a lively running arena. The 14th Zweibrücken company run, organized by the United Gymnastics Association and the United Movement Players Zweibrücken, attracted 1,315 participants - setting a new participant record. A year ago there were 1,062 runners, which once again demonstrates the interest in this popular event. Mayor Christian Gauf gave the starting signal for this spectacle with a compressed air horn and ensured an emotional start.
What would a company run be without the creative design of the teams? Many participants wore colorful costumes or uniform outfits to skillfully represent their companies. With 157 runners, John Deere was the largest group. The proceeds from the run will go towards the youth work of the two organizers.
A competition of the best times
The top sporting performances didn't stop there either. Lars Holder was crowned the fastest men's runner with a time of 15:46 minutes, while the fastest woman, Katharina Engel, needed 19:42 minutes. Such performances are a great experience not only for the participants but also for the spectators and contribute to the positive atmosphere of the event.
There are more and more running events in Germany, which underlines the positive development of running. According to Statista, current statistics show the increasing number of participants over the years. The trend is increasing until 2024, which proves that running is a popular sport that is inspiring more and more people.
Looking outside the box
The Zweibrücken company run joins a number of successful company runs in Germany, such as the M-net company run in Augsburg, which also sets new standards with 14,000 participants. There were even two starting waves to ease the crowds. These events not only promote health, but also team spirit within the company, which is of great importance these days.
Success at this event is also rewarded: awards are given to the fastest teams and runners and social celebrations such as an open-air party make the competition a wonderful experience for everyone present.
These events in the region not only promote the sporting ambitions of the participants, but also strengthen cooperation. It will be exciting to see how the running events will develop in the future and what new records will be set.
