Neunkirchen, Österreich - On June 20, 2025, the commercial academy and school Neunkirchen was the scene of a lively interreligious dialogue. Guests were able to experience the exchange between Rabbi Schlomo Hofmeister and Imam Ramazan Demir, who shared their personal horizon of experience and topics related to religion and everyday life. This event was organized by director Martin Pichlbauer and the ethics teachers Michael Kulec and Daniel Holnsteiner. The initiator Fatima Akbas was also enthusiastic about the high interest of the students, who had prepared intensively for the dialogue in advance.

not only the opportunity to ask the students the opportunity to ask questions, but also to understand the different perspectives and backgrounds of their guests. This format, which focuses on the personal encounter, enriched both the students and the teaching staff and provided an exciting and informative exchange. Such inter -religious dialogues are not only important to beat bridges between different faith communities, but also to reduce prejudices.

interreligious conversations in the tradition of cooperation

Interreligious dialogue has a long tradition in Austria and Germany. For example, the discussion group "Jews and Christians" was founded in 1971 in order to promote the exchange between these communities of faith, as the German Bishops' Conference reports. Over the years, this dialogue has developed significantly by not only working together representatives of both religions, but also with the support of over 80 companies for Christian-Jewish cooperation on the German Coordination Council. These groups promote exchange and education in society.

Another aspect of interreligious dialogue is the examination of anti -Semitism and anti -Judaism that are deeply rooted in history and theology. These topics are crucial not only for the dialogue between Jews and Christians, but also with regard to the relationship between Muslims, Jews and Christians, which promotes ecumenism. A trilateral dialogue is of great importance to enable harmonious coexistence and to strengthen mutual respect.

a Märkisch echo in interreligious exchange

The exchange between religions is a special challenge. The center underlines ecumenism that Judaism and Christianity come from the ancient people of Israel and thereby have a unique relationship with each other. In this context, it is essential to recognize the permanent election of Israel as the people of God and to develop reflection on Christian-Jewish relationships. This reflection also plays a central role in the dialogues with Muslims.

In Neunkirchen once again it became clear that the interreligious dialogue is not only relevant, but essential in order to promote an understanding and appreciation for the variety of beliefs. The trade academy has made a valuable contribution to give students the opportunity to exchange ideas with the representatives of other faiths at eye level. Such events are the key to a harmonious living together in a multi -religious society.
