Rescue after an accident in Neunkirchen-Seelscheid: Fire brigade in action!
Two serious accidents occurred in Neunkirchen-Seelscheid last Wednesday, July 16, 2025, which kept the region in suspense. The first incident took place early in the evening on federal highway 56, where a 59-year-old driver was driving her VW T-Roc towards Much.
At 7:45 p.m., for reasons that are still unclear, the vehicle left the road and collided gently with a tree, causing the car to tip over onto its roof. Luckily, the volunteer firefighters from the Seelscheid fire department were just having a practice evening in the equipment shed. This meant they were able to quickly make their way to the scene of the accident. The car was in the field and the driver was trapped inside. The rescue was time-consuming because the doors on the passenger side had to be cut off in order to gently free the woman. After about 45 minutes, the fire department completed the rescue and transported the injured person to the hospital. A tow truck was needed to recover the vehicle, while traffic on the B56 was completely closed before a lane could be reopened. Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger reports that the reasons for the departure from the road are currently unclear.
