Youth Prize 2025: Creative projects for a strong community!
The St. Wendel District Youth Prize has established itself over the last few decades as an important award for young people and initiatives. It has been awarded since 1990 to highlight and promote special and exemplary achievements in youth work. This year the prize once again has the motto “Youth 2025 – We make a difference!”, a call to all young people to submit their creative and social projects. Wochenspiegel Online informs that the prize categories are divided into school and extracurricular youth work in order to do justice to the diversity of the projects.
Students from grade 5 onwards as well as youth groups from clubs and associations are invited to submit their ideas. Participants can become active in various areas such as culture, social affairs and society. It should also be noted that the projects may contain a maximum of five DIN A4 pages and can also be submitted in the form of posters, collages or digital presentations. Prize winner 2024
This year's award winners impressively show how committed the youth in the St. Wendel district are. The Nohfelden-Türkismühle Community School won first place in the “school youth work” category. With their Christmas gift campaign, over 150 students fulfilled the wish lists of children from difficult backgrounds and distributed the gifts in collaboration with family advice centers, which not only creates social cohesion, but also contributes to the positive school culture.
Second place went to the Wendalinum high school, whose project “Safely cycling to school” developed a safe bicycle route to school. Eight students analyzed the cycle path network and even presented their results to the mayor. In the area of “extracurricular youth work”, the Bosen-Eckelhausen youth club was very enthusiastic and renovated its premises after water damage with the active support of 8-10 young people. This commitment not only promotes technical skills, but also team spirit and personal responsibility.
An outlook
The Youth Prize is more than just an award; it is a symbol of the important role of youth in society. The projects submitted here make the creativity and energy of young people visible and encouraged. The new call for proposals also clearly aims to motivate young people to realize their ideas and actively contribute to improving their living environment. Information can be found at landkreis-st-wendel.de.
The commitment of young people is not only recognized locally, but also supported by partners such as Kreissparkasse St. Wendel and Bank 1 Saar, who provide the prize money for school and extracurricular youth work. The participants are called upon to take advantage of the opportunity to make their projects visible to the larger community. The Youth Prize therefore makes a valuable contribution to strengthening the regional youth culture and the self-efficacy of everyone involved.
